Dr Adrian Burden co-founded and grew an award-winning high technology anti-counterfeiting solutions company headquartered in Singapore called Singular ID which was later acquired by leading pharmaceutical packaging supplier Bilcare.
Adrian then co-founded Key IQ Ltd, a UK based business and technology catalyst that operates the Wyche Innovation Centre for the benefit of entrepreneurs keen to start and grow their own businesses. The building also houses the Malvern Hills GeoCentre, a technology-based visitor information centre in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
In 2012 he founded the Malvern Festival of Innovation which has grown to become a nationally recognised event showcasing science, technology and entrepreneurship to school students, business professionals and members of the public. This event has since been augmented with the annual Malvern Science in the Park.
Adrian was previously a director of the UK Cyber Security Forum CIC social enterprise, a Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence at the School of Metallurgy & Materials at the University of Birmingham, and chair of the Industrial Advisory Board at the School of Physics at the University of Bristol.
Currently Adrian is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at the blockchain startup BlockMark Technologies Ltd, and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the School of Metallurgy & Materials at the University of Birmingham,
Adrian has a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and a D.Phil. in Materials Science from the University of Oxford. He was listed as a Maserati 100 Entrepreneur by the Centre for Entrepreneurs in The Sunday Times in February 2015. He is author of the book Start to Exit: How to maximize the value in your start-up, published in October 2017, and Inspiring outside the box: The ten-year backstory to the Malvern Festival of Innovation, published in October 2022.
